Parallax Interactive, LLC provides two ways to delete your Are You Fluent? account and associated app data.
Delete in the app
- Open Are You Fluent?
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion prompt.
Request deletion outside the app
Email help@prllxlabs.com with the subject “Are You Fluent account deletion”. Include the Google or Apple email linked to your account if you linked one.
Delete data without deleting your account
To request deletion of particular data while keeping your account, email help@prllxlabs.com with the subject “Are You Fluent data deletion” and describe the data you want removed. We may ask for information needed to verify that the data belongs to you. Removing a language in Settings removes it from your active languages; learning and reward history is retained until your account is deleted or a specific data deletion request is processed.
Data deleted
- Account identity and authentication sessions
- Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple link, email, and display name, if provided
- Language progress, daily progress, streak data, cards, coins, content reports, and settings
- Device notification tokens, app installation identifiers stored on our servers, and notification history
- Reward verification references and receipts linked to your account
If you linked Sign in with Apple, we first ask Apple to revoke the App's access to your Apple account, whether you delete your account in the App or by email. In the App, you may be asked to sign in with Apple again to confirm. If that request fails, nothing is deleted and your account stays as it was, so you can try again.
Data retained
We may retain limited records only when required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, backup integrity, or to document that your deletion request was completed. Retained records are not used to provide an active account.
- Deletion request emails and completion records may be retained for up to 90 days.
- Operational logs may retain limited identifiers for up to 90 days.
- Encrypted database backups may contain deleted data until they expire, no longer than 7 days.
- Aggregated or anonymized operational metrics that no longer identify you may be kept.
Analytics, crash reports and ads
Usage analytics, crash reports and advertising data are processed by Google and tied to random installation or advertising identifiers, not to your account, so deleting your account does not delete them. To stop further collection on a device, turn off usage analytics and crash reports in Settings > Privacy. Data already sent is deleted after the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
Timing
In-app deletion removes active account data immediately. Email requests are reviewed and processed within 30 days. Any retained records expire according to the retention periods listed above.
